Tour

A Tour consists of multiple Stages with each Stage comprising a number of Events. Each Event will have a different start times, this is to suit the various timezones around the world. This is a mass-start event where everyone starts together. Zwift.Racing accumulates the Riders times across the Stages and also classifies the rider (A, B, C, D) based on observed w/kg during the stages.

Handicap (by Time)

This race uses the Race Categories (A, B, C, D) to classify each rider by ability but starts each group at a different time. The slower riders get to go first and the fastest riders are sent off last. The idea is that the groups work together as much as possible to try and catch the groups in front and to hold off the groups behind.

Age Group

This is a mass-start event where everyone is entered into the same Category (usually A). Age groups are aligned with UCI age groups and you are expected to add the correct code to your name so that other racers can identify which age group you belong to. The results are later split according to the registered riders age groups. These events usually require Riders to register with the race organiser.

Handicap (by Weight)

This race requires registration with the organisers who manage a handicap list using weights. Each week they will allocate everyone a weight which they enter into Zwift. The aim being to level the playing field between all entrants. Dont forget to set your weight back for normal racing/training though.
